Bar Spontana and Shu come together for one night only, exploring the rich flavours and cultural heritage of Talat Noi in a bold and modern feast celebrating the deep cultural ties between Thailand and China.

On the menu? A four-course vegan extravaganza inspired by the street food, family recipes, and regional specialties of Talat Noi, reimagined through a modern lens. Expect bold flavours, thoughtful storytelling, and an exploration of heritage through plant-based Thai-Chinese cuisine.

One Night in Talat Noi is a tribute to the vibrant Chinatown of Bangkok, a place rich with history, flavour, and the enduring legacy of Chinese migration through Thailand.

Bangkok's gutsiest champion of Isan food makes its Australian debut this March.

Top-gun Bangkok chef Chalee Kader is coming to Australia for the very first time to take over the kitchen at Bar Spontana, presenting a Northern Thai–focused menu featuring signature dishes from his acclaimed restaurant, 100 Mahaseth.

In addition to Mahaseth, Chalee is also across the Michelin-starred Wana Yook restaurant and hot new modern-Thai spot Soma, among others.

"The presentation may be artful but the flavours smack of just-harvested feasts on rural farms and families sharing sweet, smoky comfort food in remote villages," says the profile of 100 Mahaseth on The World's 50 Best, a point that Time Out Bangkok underscored in its most recent five-star review of the restaurant, saying "Kader has made a career marrying those upcountry traditions with elegant, modern presentation and creative concepts".
